Herschel Walker was voted into the Collegiate Football Hall of Fame, and was selected as the second greatest player in college football history (behind Red Grange)

Herschel's son Christian was born

Herschel Walker retired from the NFL as one of the top running backs in the pros, gaining more yards than anyone in professional football history, counting his seasons in both the NFL and USFL. He finished his professional career with a total of 8,225 yards and 61 rushing touchdowns. He also caught 512 passes for 4,859 yards and 21 scores.

As a member of the Health South "Go For It Road Show" Herschel has spoken to  over 4 million kids promoting the importance of education, exercise and proper nutrition.

Herschel led the NFL in combined net yards (2,051) and finished as the NFC's fifth leading rusher.

Herschel became starting running back for the Minnesota Vikings

1988
Herschel became only the 10th player in NFL history to gain 2,000 total yards from scrimmage.
Herschel led the NFC in rushing yards (1,514).  He paced the NFL with 1,806 total yards and became the first NFL player ever to gain 700 yards rushing and receiving in one season.
Herschel led all NFL running backs in receptions and yards per carry.
Herschel set Dallas Cowboys club records for receptions in a single season (76) and total yardage in a single game (282).  In three USFL seasons, Herschel gained over 7,000 yards and scored 61 touchdowns.

Had an NFL personal best - 173 yards rushing versus New England

Joined the Dallas Cowboys where he led entire NFL in rushing and earned All-Pro honors

Herschel's 2,411 yards rushing is still a professional football single-season record.
Set a USFL rushing record with 233 yards.  Set 10 NCAA game records, 15 Southeastern Conference records and 30 University of Georgia records.

Herschel has performed with the Fort Worth Ballet 
Herschel has a fifth degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do.
